Private beta. Last updated 19 October 2026 (visit and tap counting added). A draft written in plain words; it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
This explains what The Music Network keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. The network is run by Inspo Music Group ("we", "us").
What we keep
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name, email and password when you make an account (members, fans and collaborators) | To sign you in and reach you. Your password is scrambled before it's stored, so we never see it. |
| Your profile: photo, roles, city, links, bio | To show your page and your place on the map |
| Credits, releases, beats, playlists, follows, likes and RSVPs you add | That's the network itself |
| Support messages and any screenshot you attach | To answer you |
| Sign-in records: the time, your internet address and browser type | To keep accounts safe and stop password guessing |
| A scrambled, one-way code made from your internet address, kept for two days | To stop mass sign-ups |
| Short-lived server logs | To find and fix errors |
| Page visits, counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics: the page, where you came from, your device type and how fast it loaded. No cookies, and nothing that says who you are | To see what people use and make it better |
| Taps, counted by us: which profile, record, card or group was opened, which store or kind of link was tapped, how many letters a search had (never the words), and when an invite is used. Nothing that says who: no name or account, no cookies, and no internet address or device is kept. Each count is deleted after three months | To see what people use and make it better |
What we don't do
- We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
- We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies we set keep you signed in. Counting visits and taps uses no cookies.
- We don't count who taps what. If your browser asks not to be tracked (Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control), your taps aren't counted at all.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare runs the network for us: the servers, the databases, file storage, email sending, the "are you human?" check on sign-up forms, and the counts of visits and taps. Cloudflare sees internet addresses as part of that; to stop floods of fake taps it uses yours for a minute, and it isn't written down.
- Public catalogues such as Apple Music are where some release details come from. We only read from them.
What's public
Your profile, your credits and your place on the map are public. That's the point of the network. In the map's Phone → Settings → Privacy you choose what else anyone can see.
How long we keep it
As long as your account is open. When you delete something or ask us to delete your account, it's removed from the network. Our backups are deleted on a schedule: daily copies after 35 days, monthly copies after a year. When you ask us to delete your account, we also remove your pictures and beat files from the backups.
Your choices
- See or change your profile at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of what we keep about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Email contact@inspomusicgroup.com for any of this. We'll answer within 30 days.
Children
The network isn't for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly keep information about them. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we'll remove it.
Changes
We'll update this page as the network grows. The date at the top shows the latest version.
